Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday declared that all the ministers appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari will render their first performance report to the presidency in December this year. Osinbajo, who disclosed this at the opening ceremony of the Annual National Management Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Management in Abuja, said the President had developed specific mandates for each ministry, which the ministers had to follow. “The ministers are expected to render their first report of performance in December,” the vice-president told delegates at the management conference. He further noted that studies had shown that all sectors of the Nigerian economy were suffering from endemic management failure. According to Osinbajo, the problem of the country was is a management problem, but he was quick to state that the current government was working hard to address this challenge.

Members of the Board of Trustees, BOT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday publicly disagreed over the report of the committee set up to look into the circumstances that led to the emergence of Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives against the directive of the party. The party had sent the name of Hon. Kingsley Chinda to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, for the House Minority Leadership position, but Elumelu eventually emerged for the position. This development led to the suspension of Elumelu and six others for one month, which was later extended. The  Kogi State Governor , Yahaya Bello, inspected a newly constructed N4 billion rice mill with the capacity to produce 50 tonnes of rice per day. Mr Bello disclosed this during an inspection tour to the factory site, at Omi Dam in Ejiba, Yagba West LGA of  Kogi . Speaking during the tour, the governor said he visited the dam and promised to establish a rice mill. “Today we have this factory 100 per cent established by Kogi State Government, which had been neglected by all the past PDP administration.” ”We approached the Federal Government through the Minister for Water Resources to allow us to use this dam for the benefit of our people.” ”Today, we are here to inspect a brand new rice factory that is second to none as far as the northern Nigeria is concerned,” he said.
