Governor Fintiri constitutes ADSU Governing Board
Governor Ahmadu FIntiri has constituted the governing board of the Adamawa State University Mubi four years after the last board was disbanded by the state government.
FIntiri approved the constitution of ADSU's Governing Council after his meeting with the management and union leaders of the institution who paid him a courtesy visit at the government house Yola.
The governor, also used the occasion of the visit to reiterate his administration's commitment to revamping education in the state.

He said the administration beside launching and implementing the government's free education policy, in the state, also secured N3bn in funding meant for high impact intervention for the state University.
The reconstituted governing board of ADSU, named Auwal Tukur, a former member of House of Representative and stalwart of the People's Democratic Party who represented Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, as chairman of the governing board. Others on the board are Zira Maigadi, Kashim Njidda, Mrs Mary Sawa, Alh. Zubairu Gabdo Toungo and a representatives each from the state ministry of justice and Higher Education respectively who are yet to be named.

The appointment, according to a statement signed by Solomon Kumangar, the Director General Media and Communication, Adamawa state government, is with immediate effect.
Earlier, Fintiri in his remarks urged the cooperation of all stakeholders in the state saying the administration despite being confronted with enormous challenges upon its inception, is working to ensure it takes the state to the next level.

He said, "This state is at our heart and we are concerned for her future and development. For this University, I think within the first three months that we came, we have made a lot of effort and just this week we have secured N3bn Maura high impact for the University. And from this we intend to build 3 more faculties and a lot of hostels for our students."
Prof. Farauta Kaletapwa, Vice Chancellor of the institution, reeled out some of the achievements recorded by institution since are appointment 2017 as Vice Chancellor of the institution. Among the achievements listed are restoration of peace in the University community and cordial working relationship of management staff, unions and student; facilitated prompt release of promotions for staff and raised the professorial cadre from 4 in 2017 to 28 as at date. And implementation of some recommendations of the visitation panel by establishing New Directorate, commencement of training and retraining of staff starting with the recent management retreat among others.
