Supreme Court Rejects PDP Appeal, Insists Buhari is President
The Supreme Court today, ruled out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s appeal to challenge the judgment of Justice Mohammed Garba over the February 23 poll.
The seven-man panel led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed upheld the ruling of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal which affirmed President’s Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the polls.
The CJN said the panel agreed that the appeal had no merit, adding that the panel had been reviewing the case for the past two weeks.
According to the judgment, President Muhammadu Buhari remains the constitutionally elected president as the February 23 poll had shown.
